Genevieve Capitanio – Painter (Switzerland)

On a special afternoon, I had the opportunity to meet artist and painter Genevieve Capitanio. Our conversations, ranging from colour worlds to life paths, were inspiring and gave the portrait series an unexpected depth and intimacy. 

Genevieve, who lives and works in Clarens-Montreux in Switzerland, brings a perspective to her painting that combines familiarity with new spaces. The meeting in Bratislava provided me with the perfect backdrop to capture her essence and artistic perspective in impressive visual imagery. Her works reflect a combination of traditional art references and an open willingness to experiment – a portrait series that allows encounters, places and personalities to flow into one another.
